Riverside County is the 2nd largest county, area-wise, in the state of California. There are over 700 4-H members enrolled in various projects and clubs. In the Palo Verde Valley area alone, there are more than 200 4-H members enrolled in projects. Members may do projects indoors during our hot summer months, but many are working animal projects year round, such as horse. There are 5 4-H clubs, all with full enrollments. One activity that involves all the clubs of the area is The Herdsman Challenge. This is put on by the Livestock Committee. It consists of scores from presentations, market classes, showmanship, record books, and a judging contest with oral reasons to be given. Our local fair and show is in April. Many members do attend several shows and contests in other states and cities. Our 4-H Program is fortunate to have a wonderful community like Blythe, CA. to support and encourage our members.
A Very Special Thank You To Florida Light And Power for the grant for the Leadership and Citizenship Project in 2003.
Thank You to California Women For Agriculture, Blythe Chapter for the purchase of all club member fair passes.
